DESIGNED BY DEVELOPERS, FOR DEVELOPERS

As designers and developers ourselves, we wanted a system for our own designs that is robust, reusable and that could be moved, transported and even stored out of the way for periods of time. The end result meets all of these initial objectives and is a pleasure to use.

Screwing down PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) and devices to Threadboard is an ease and a pleasure to use. The sub-systems do not move and there is no risk of short circuits or damage. The completed system can easily and reliably be deployed as an initial prototype as is!

HOLE PATTERNS

Our hole patterns include support for a number of popular 'Off-The-Shelf' computing modules such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, TI Beagle Board, Intel Galileo and PC/104 form factors via hole patterns provided on the Threadboard. Only screwed mounting accessories are required and Arduino and Raspberry Pi computing modules may be mounted in a horizontal or vertical orientation.

The remainder of the Threadboard is patterned with a 15mm x 15mm matrix of M3 tapped holes or support for the mounting of breadboards.

Currently there is no standard or industry convention for the hole patterns on Threadboards - so we are creating our own standard, which we call M15. To assist in mounting devices a M15 hole stencil is provided with each unit and a range of flexible PCB mounting "risers" are also available.

Failing that some work and basic hand tools may be required to mount your PCB's and devices. Any requests to customise existing designs or to support new form factors and requirements are welcomed.

MATERIALS

Alumina

Alumina is made from a high quality, rigid, brushed anodised aluminium and is intended for professional users. It is electrically and thermally conductive, which is ideal for use as a heatsink.

Alumina is made from 4mm, 5083 grade, aluminium that is linished and anodised with a natual finsish (colour). The anodise used is ROHS certified and is resistant to staining and marking.

HDPE

HDPE is a plastic material that is light and easy to modify and is ideal for Makers. It is an electrical and thermal insulator.

HDPE is 4.5mm High Density Poly Ethelene and is white in colour. HDPE may stain and discolour, may distort and is not an engineered material.

ACCESSORIES

Our range of accessories results in the Threadboard product being a "system". Leveraging the M3 tapped holes we have assembled and designed a numer of accessories to mount PCBs, cables, switches and buttons.

In the future we will offer a wide range of products, for now we offer accessories as part of our kits.

S Accessories Kit

25 x Plastic (Nylon) washers
4 x Nylon, threaded stand-offs for Arduino/Netduino
4 x Nylon, threaded stand-offs for RaspberryPi

DR Accessories Kit

25 x Plastic (Nylon) washers
4 x Nylon, threaded stand-offs for Arduino/Netduino
4 x Nylon, threaded stand-offs for RaspberryPi
4 x PCB Risers (Edge) and fasteners
4 x PCB Risers (hole) and fasteners

Breadboard Baseplates

Breadboards may be mounted directly onto the Threadboard using the adhesive background or for a more flexible option a baseplate specifically designed for Threadboard may be used.

Two versions are available:

Breadboard Baseplate for 400 tie Breadboard
Breadboard Baseplate for 830 tie Breadboard

Breadboard Baseplates are made from 4mm clear acrylic and include four (4) M3 screws.

GUARANTEE & WARRANTY

We deliver what we demand ourselves of a quality engineered tool.

All our Threadboard products include a thirty (30) day, total money back satisfaction guarantee. If the product you purchased does not meet your expectations the unit price will be refunded on return.

Note that actual material colour and finish may vary slightly from the images depicted on this web site.

USE & SAFETY

Being made from conductive aluminium our Alumina products are not suitable for use with mains level voltages (110 VAC - 240VAC) and incorrect use may result damage to other equipment, serious personal injury and even death.

potential danger when using threadboard with electricity
